Summer is in full swing, and I hope you are all enjoying it! Before you know it, August 28 will be here, and you'll be moving to your new home, BHSU! We are very excited to have you as part of the Yellow Jacket family. First, however, you need to take care of some business if you haven't already done so. Mainly, you need to register for Fall 2011 classes!

If you are a first time freshman student, New Student Registration (NSR) is a required program intended to provide you with the best opportunities in your first year at BHSU. At NSR, you will register for classes, meet faculty & staff, establish relationships with current students, and begin the transformation to college! The next NSR session will take place on July 8 @ 8:00 a.m. If you will be a first time freshman student at BHSU and have not attended an NSR session, sign up for the July 8th session TODAY by completing the online registration form. We are so excited to have you on campus that we are offering a FREE BHSU T-Shirt to the first 10 students who complete the online registration form and put "I'm a Jacket" in the comments section. If you do this, you will receive your free t-shirt at NSR. All your fellow BHSU students will be super envious of your awesome, FREE BHSU T-shirt, let me tell ya! So complete the registration form today, and take the next step to becoming an official BHSU student.

If you have already attended NSR and have your class schedule all set, congratulations! You are well on your way! A list of other items that you will want to make sure are completed/taken care of can always be found on the Admitted Students Checklist.

Summer = Fall 2011 Registration!

Happy Summer Solstice everyone! Even though it's rainy and dreary outside right now, the sun will definitely shine again, proven by the photo to the left taken on a beautiful spring afternoon on campus. Unlike the last few days, the weather was amazing last week when we had 100s of new students congregate on campus to get registered for courses and become official Yellow Jackets. What a great few days it was seeing all your beautiful faces! We can hardly wait for the next New Student Registration (NSR) sessions that will take place on July 8 and 22 at both 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. There are still spots available for these dates, in both the morning and afternoon sessions. Therefore, if you are a first time freshman accepted student to BHSU for the fall semester and have not yet attended or registered for an NSR session, sign up TODAY at www.bhsu.edu/nsr.

Calling all Transfer students! It is not required for you to attend an NSR session to get registered for fall 2011 classes, but you WILL need to make a registration appointment with Debbie Smoot in the Center for Academic Success. If you are a newly accepted transfer student at BHSU for the fall semester, please call Debbie at 605.642.6106 to schedule an individual appointment to register for classes. Classes are filling up fast, so call Debbie ASAP in order to get the best schedule possible for you!

The fall 2011 semester is unbelievably right around the corner. If you haven't already done so, make your reservation to register for courses so that you can enjoy the rest of summer with no worries. See you on campus soon!

NSR Morning Sessions Available

I know that everyone likes to sleep in. That MAY be why our June 16 & June 17 afternoon New Student Registration sessions are full! We are at max capacity for these sessions. However, the morning sessions have plenty of room yet! Sign up for one of the morning NSR sessions TODAY by going to www.bhsu.edu/nsr. The BHSU Admissions Counselors will be bright eyed and bushy tailed ready to greet you at the door at 8:00 a.m. with our smiling faces!

First NSR Sessions

Happy Summer! I am so glad that I can finally say that with the last few days being in the upper 90s. I think it is safe to say the season of flip flops, tans, bbq's, and longer days is here!

Summer is also associated with New Student Registration (NSR) on the BHSU campus! We had our first few NSR sessions this past week and let me tell ya- we are definitely excited for these students! You are all now official BHSU Yellow Jackets! You may have some lingering questions after attending NSR, so please know that the Office of Admissions is open all summer and would be happy to assist you. Our next NSR sessions will be June 16 & 17 with an 8:00 am & 1:00 pm session both days. The 1:00 pm sessions on both of these days are now at capacity and FULL, so if you are a new freshman student who has been accepted to BHSU for the Fall 2011 semester and haven't already signed up for an NSR session, please do so ASAP at www.bhsu.edu/nsr.

Along with attending an NSR session, make sure and check out the Admitted Students Checklist to view a list of all other items you need to complete before attending classes in the fall!
